Staro Zhelezare

Staro Zhelezare

Near the bulgarian village Staro Zhelezare, not far from town Hisarya is located a thracian cromlech. It consists of 24 stone polls made of a very unstable rock. Their height is between 0.5 and 2 meters. It is believed that it has been used as an astronomical observatory. Golyamo Bukovo

The monastery is located near the bulgarian village Golyamo Bukovo, not far from town Burgas. There are no other monasteries which are working in Strandzha mountain. It has been built in 12th century on a place with an ancient sanctuary and renovated in 1873 - 1887. In 1903 it has become richest land owner with watermills as part of its property. During 80's it has been used as a camp. In this bulgarian complex you can see wallpaintings in the church and the external walls of the residential building. People believe that spring water in the yard has healing powers. Nowadays this site is a monument of bulgarian culture, open to public.

Pchelarovo

The medieval fortress is located near the bulgarian village Pchelarovo, which is close to town Kardzhali. The fortress Rusokastro is located near the bulgarian village Rusokastro, not far from Burgas. It has many holes which show that there has been a mining activity.
